National College Match Scholarship Package

These numbers reflect estimated student expenses for the 2025-2026 school year. Amounts will change slightly from year to year, but as the cost of college increases, the scholarship packages will correspondingly increase. Your official financial aid award will be included in a letter directly from Princeton.

Due to the phased rollout of the 2025-26 FAFSA which may cause a delay in it being widely available before December 1, Princeton reserves the right to amend your aid decision if your FAFSA reflects the availability of resources beyond what is reported on your Princeton Financial Aid Application.

Policy on Outside Funding

Outside scholarships are additional resources intended to reduce financial need. In Princeton’s need-based financial aid program, which meets a QuestBridge Scholar’s full financial need, outside scholarships reduce Princeton grant funds. If your grant funds are reduced, you may recuperate up to $3,500 toward the purchase of a personal computer.

Policy on Health Insurance

Students who are not covered by a family health insurance policy must purchase Student Health Plan coverage for approximately $3,510. Financial aid is available to cover the health plan cost for students without comparable coverage.

Policy on Travel Allowance

This estimate does not include the cost of travel, which may range between $50 and $5,000.

Requirements Associated with Maintaining this Award

Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Princeton University’s Financial Aid Overview

Princeton is firmly committed to meeting the full need of every qualified student with an aid package that does not require a loan. Most families with income under $100,000 will qualify for grant aid to cover full tuition, room, books, and personal expenses. Even if your family does not fall into this category, keep in mind that Princeton provides generous no-loan packages to students from a broad range of financial circumstances.

During the National College Match, Princeton will only match with students whose parents have a Parent Contribution of zero as determined by Princeton’s financial aid office. Students whose parents have a Parent Contribution greater than zero will still be considered for admission to Princeton during Regular Decision and will still qualify for aid to meet their full demonstrated need, if admitted. You can get an idea of the financial aid package you might receive by using the Princeton Financial Aid Estimator. The Estimator is a convenient calculator based on Princeton's actual financial aid formula. If you provide accurate information about your family's finances, the estimated award figured for you will be very realistic.
