Approximately $2000 of outside funding will be used to reduce the student earnings contribution. Additional funding will be used to reduce the Oberlin Grant, dollar for dollar.
Oberlin requires all students to have health insurance, either through a parent or through the Oberlin Student Health Plan. The Oberlin Student Health Plan is $2,880 for the 2025-2026 school year. If you need a health plan through Oberlin, contact the Office of Financial Aid.
The $2,880 health insurance cost is not included in the $92,280 total as it is only covered IF the student needs health insurance coverage through the Oberlin Student Health Plan. If a student does need health insurance through the Oberlin Student Health Plan, Oberlin will cover the $2,880 cost for a QuestBridge College Match.
Travel cost will vary based on student location. This expense is subsidized by the summer work contribution.
Oberlin expects students to contribute $2,300 from Federal Work-Student and $2,300 from summer work towards their total cost of attendance. This contribution can be put towards personal expenses, such as books and travel.
All numbers are estimated for the current year and will change slightly for the final financial aid award. Oberlin College is committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated need with a combination of grants and/or scholarships, work study and student summer work contribution. Federal student loans are optional and may be available up to $5,500, depending on student expenses.
