What QB Scholars say about their favorite classes...

"I loved multivariable calculus with Professor Colin Adams. He was an engaging teacher who was often so into the lesson that he would break a sweat as he dashed up and down the length of the chalkboard. In addition, it was a much faster paced math course than I had ever taken in high school, which I enjoyed."
- Kristen Emhoff, Math major, Class of 2009

"My Japanese class, despite being one of my hardest classes throughout the year, was probably the one I was always most motivated to do the work for. The classroom atmosphere is extremely demanding but the students and professors are wonderful and definitely push me to work harder."
- Dalena Frost, Class of 2009

"I think the best class I took this last year was History of Mexico from the Revolution to NAFTA. It was a fascinating class on a subject I knew very little about going in to it. The professors lectures were interesting enough, though it was really a discussion-based class, as most classes at Williams seem to be. The readings were fascinating, and the best part were the paper topics. They were broad enough so that each student could really find something that interested him or her to work into it an angle. That class really made me feel like I had learned something in 13 weeks that would stick with me for years."
- Anna Hernandez-French, Class of 2009

What QB Scholars say about studying abroad...

“Many students go abroad, and there are some programs, like one in NYC, and Williams Mystic, which is a semester at sea. I don’t think Williams wants money to get in the way of study abroad, and I believe the scholarship transfers to cover the study abroad program.”
- Anna Hernandez-French, Class of 2009

“. . . it’s still pretty obvious that Williams actively encourages study abroad. So like everything at Williams, there’ll be a lot of freedom for the student to personalize a study abroad experience and then they’ll support your vision with the funding required.”
- Kenny Yim, Class of 2009

“Williams has 4 prominent study abroad programs (in Connecticut, New York, Oxford, and South Africa), but if none of those fit your interests there’s a Dean whose sole purpose is finding study abroad options for students. And if you don’t want to go away for an entire semester, it’s really easy to go somewhere for the 4-week Winter Study semester in January.”
- Jared Currier, Class of 2009
