Available Majors and Career Preparation
- Northwestern offers more than 80 formal academic concentrations in six undergraduate schools. See the entire list of available majors at Northwestern.
- Interested in Pre-Med? Students at Northwestern successfully gain admission to medical schools from many different majors, both within and outside of the sciences. QuestBridge applicants are also eligible to apply for Northwestern's Honors Program in Medical Education, a 7-year program in which high school seniors are essentially accepted to college and medical school at the same time. - Interested in Engineering? Since 1939, Northwestern's McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science has been teaching students to become technical leaders with the skills that make them signicant contributors to society. Freshmen explore engineering through the unique Engineering First curriculum, and students with broadly based interests are able to work towards two degrees in engineering or pursue a combined degree program.
