- MIT is an NCAA Division III school, and has 41 varsity sports teams (21 men, 17 women, 3 co-ed), over 30 club sports teams, and more than 19 intramural programs. Earning 11 Academic All-America honors during the 2007-08 seasons, MIT surpassed its previous record of 10 picks in 1999.
